On behalf of the entire teaching staff and the Mullane Healy O'Brien Booster Club, we would like to thank everyone for attending the 2009 Mullane Healy O'Brien Feis.

We thank our esteemed panel of international adjudicators and musicians who came from Ireland, England, Canada and the US for their participation this weekend.  We thank all the wonderful MHoB parents and dancers who volunteered throughout the weekend, along with our Entry Secretary Mary Pat Dumke and all the Committee Chairs for your help in making this weekend a success.  Finally, a special thank you to Kathy Dale for her endless energy in seeing that every detail of the Feis was addressed.  Without all of your help, none of this possible.

The results of the Feis:

First Feis                           Beginner 1

Beginner 2                         Novice

Prize Winner                      Champ Solos

Championship Results       PC Sets

Finally, we hope that you all had an enjoyable weekend and we look forward to seeing you at the Halloween Feis in October.

In October, 2007, with great anticipation and excitement, the Mullane-Healy O'Brien Academy was born.  The family-run Mullane Irish Dance Academy, which was established in 1985 and the Healy-O'Brien Academy joined talents and are now looking to the future as one of Chicago's premiere Irish dance academies as  the Mullane Healy  O'Brien Irish Dance Academy.

Classes are held in our state of the art studios in Elmhurst, Edison Park, Orland Park, the Quad-Cities and Gaelic Park.  The blending of talents will now afford ALL present and future dancers an extensive array of opportunities combining the skills of  both schools - through avenues such as performances, recitals, choreographies, School Feises, workshops and Academy events.

From recreational dance instruction, to preparation for the World Championship, in the Mullane-Healy-O'Brien Irish Dance Academy you will find a hardworking— yet fun atmosphere, from both the teaching staff and the student.  To illustrate the hardwork, after preparation and practice that began in August, the dancers and teachers were extremely proud of their success at the recent 2008 Mid-America Regional Oireachtas.  The Academy won a remarkable 6 Solo Championships, to compliment an additional 3 Team Championships.  And although an achievement to be sure - more recognizable was the camaraderie and friendships developed between all the dancers  as each cheered the other on to success.

PB306061.JPGUnder the Mullane Healy O'Brien Academy, classes are offered in both recreational and competitive Irish dancing allowing dancers to enjoy Irish dancing at their pace.  For our competitive dancers who enjoy dancing in competitions (whether it be a local Feis or the World Championships), there is a suitable class for their level, as well as dancers who simply choose to enjoy Irish dancing as a recreational activity.

We believe that one of our greatest assets is the diversity of the Mullane- Healy- O'Brien teaching staff. Although each teacher is the primary instructor in their  own studio and class, all teachers travel among the various locations to work  with all of the students in the school.  Each teacher brings a different perspective and approach to the students, and each teacher relies on their own strengths to further develop the abilities and talents of the dancers.   The teaching faculty at the Mullane-Healy-O'Brien Academy is an international fusion of some of the most highly accomplished and decorated teachers in Irish Dance today.

Combining these talents, the Mullane-Healy-O'Brien Academy is poised for the future.
